3/21/2019 Graduate Spotlight: Taylor JacksonTaylor Jackson Class of 2014 - Creative Media Production Academy Northwest High School Right now, I am currently a morning news producer at KXXV in Waco, Tx. My goal is to be a producer in one of the top 5 markets, DFW is my dream choice. After I graduated high school I went to UNT and received my undergraduate in Converged Broadcast Media; I always knew I wanted to do something in news. I was very lucky to get a job right out of school and work in something I love. I joined the Creative Media Production Academy (formerly known as AMAT) knowing I wanted to do something in television, preferably in broadcast, and throughout the courses it became clear that it was exactly what I wanted to do. We learned how to write, edit, and anchor/report, use cameras, and run a broadcast for news. I was equipped with all kinds of knowledge and skills that most people don’t learn until university years... or sometimes until they get into a job. CMP put me ahead, I knew things my freshman year of college at UNT (where I joined one of the top rated college news stations in the nation) that most people don’t know until a few years later. I am forever grateful to the amazing teachers, especially Mr. Rawe, for giving me the knowledge to go far in my college and working career. CMP was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
